岩手県遠野市に滞在中の吉野和也さんが受け取った箱の中から、Sサイズ、XSサイズを、岩手県陸前高田市に搬送。NPOの菅野広紀さんが高田高校で開催する、映画「スイングガール」の上映会に併せて、女子高校生の皆さんへMatta NYの服をプレゼントするそうです。時期については学校の先生と調整するそうです。鈴木さんからは「髙田高校は今回の震災で学校が被災し、生徒さんたちは、遠く旧農業高校で授業を受けておられます。テレビでも放送されましたが、吹奏楽部顧問の小笠原先生が吹奏楽部の楽器を探し出し、楽器店がそれを修理してくれました。そんな事から、シネマセンター(映画提供のNPO)と協議し、学校での映画上映のアイデアが出たそうです。」とコメントを添えてくれました。
高校生を対象に、映画鑑賞会＆Matta NY特設ショップのアイデア、いいですね。連絡を受けた私も、気持が明るくなりました。ラックにちゃんと服を掛けて、女子校生たちに好きなものを試着したり、選んでもらうようにするそうです。きっと楽しい会場になりますね。日本のサポーターの方々への感謝はつきません。本当に、ありがとうございます！
I received a report from Kasumi Suzuki, my contact in Japan who has arranged the help of supporters in the disaster areas in order to hand out the Matta NY clothes to the victims.
Here is what she has informed me:
One box sent to Kazuya Yoshino of Tonoshi, Iwate prefecture (mainly S and XS sizes) will be transported to Rikuzentakata, where the clothes will be handed out to High school girls attending a special screening of the movie “Swing Girls” at Takata High School, sponsored by Hironori Sugano, an NPO in the area. The date is currently being arranged. (Takata High School was damaged by the tsunami and the students have been attending classes at the far away campus of what was previously an agricultural high school. It was previously documented on Japanese television about how the teacher of the wind instruments club at Takata High School had gone to look for the students musical instruments and how a music store had offered to repair them. After seeing that, Mr. Sugano talked to Cinema Center, (an NPO offering movies), and arranged the special movie screening at the high school).
I loved the idea of having a special Matta NY boutique set up at the high school movie screening. They plan to hang the clothes on proper racks, and let the students try the clothes on and select what they want. It’s sure to be a very fun event.
